Crèche blessed in front of State House in Trenton

Hundreds from around the Diocese celebrated Christmas in the public square Dec. 10 at the annual blessing of the crèche on the lawn of the New Jersey State House.
Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Trenton Federation, the enthusiastic crowd witnessed the march of the Color Corps, Christmas caroling and clergy impart their blessing on the crèche to celebrate the blessed birth of our Savior. Father Brian Woodrow, pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, Allentown, presided over the blessing, and the children’s choir from Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Trenton, were on hand to sing carols.
The Knights of Columbus have been sponsoring the blessing for more than 30 years. Last year’s blessing was the first to feature children’s choirs as part of the cherished public celebration and program.
