The 12th annual Pastoral Care Retreat, Day of Reflection and Renewal at the Shore, is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 in the San Alfonso Retreat House, Long Branch.

Sponsored by the diocesan Department of Pastoral Care, the retreat is a day of renewal for all who journey with the sick; parish visitors of the sick, chaplains, clergy, religious, homebound visitors, employees and volunteers in nursing homes, hospices and hospitals, spiritual directors, lay ecclesial ministers, family caregivers, faith community nurses and other health care professionals.

Using the theme, “We’re all Un-Free, and on the Road to Freedom, God is the Key,” the retreat will consist of morning and afternoon talks by presenter Vincentian Father Martin McGeough, prayer time, beach walks, lunch and a Mass.

Father McGeough served the Diocese as coordinator of jail and prison ministry from 2012 to the fall of 2017 when he was appointed to his current position as pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Emmitsburg, Md.

The fee is $45, which includes a continental breakfast and hot lunch. To register by mail, send a check payable to “Diocese of Trenton” to The Diocese of Trenton Dept. of Pastoral Care, 701 Lawrenceville Road, Trenton, N.J. 08648. Include your name, address, phone, email, parish, professional role, place of ministry and religious denomination.
