Local Order of Malta faithful help poor
December 19, 2019 at 12:23 a.m.

Members of the American Association of Malta’s New Jersey chapter joined with their hospitaller brothers and sisters around the world to observe the third annual World Day of the Poor Nov. 19. To help local food needs, the Knights and Dames of Malta of the Diocese of Trenton assembled and distributed packages of food to Catholic Charities’ Linkages facility in Tinton Falls.
Bob and Karen Tanzola, members of St. Catharine-St. Margaret Parish, Spring Lake, were among those who assembled 50 “Food to Go” packages intended for those residing at Linkages, a transitional housing program designed to enhance self-sufficiency skills and transition into independent living.
Each of the packages included the message “We hope you find it helpful. It is given to you with love.”
