From staff reports

What started as a simple idea grew to a larger donation effort by two brothers in St. Paul School.

Santino Travia, a fourth-grader in the Burlington school, thought it would be good to add new books to the school library. After sharing this wish with his family, his grandmother baked cookies, and Santino and his brother Anthony, who is in second grade, sold them at the 2018 school Christmas breakfast to raise money.

The Travia family went a step further, as Santino and Anthony hosted a holiday book drive in mid-December at the Barnes & Noble store in Marlton. All books donated that day were given directly to St. Paul School. A percentage of the day’s purchases were donated to purchase books for the school.

More than 200 books were added to the library.

“Santino is a very generous young man,” principal Kimberly Cioci said. “His wish for more books was not for himself, but for everyone at St. Paul School. He made his wish come true with hard work and a giving heart.”
