Sister M. Eunice Corcoran, taught in Asbury Park school

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 28 in Our Lady of Peace Residence, Scranton, Pa., for Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister M. Eunice Corcoran, who died April 24. She was 103.

Born in 1914 and given the name Clare, Sister M. Eunice entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary congregation Sept. 8, 1931; made her temporary profession of vows April 24, 1934, and her final profession of vows Aug. 1, 1937.

Sister M. Eunice held bachelor’s and master’s of arts degrees in education from Marywood College, Scranton, Pa. She served as principal and teacher in schools in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey. In the Trenton Diocese, she taught in Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Asbury Park.

From 2000 until the time of her death, she was a prayer minister in the Marian Convent and Our Lady of Peace Residence.

Sister M. Eunice is survived by a niece, three nephews and their families and members of her religious community.

Burial was in St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
