The parishes of Cohort 11 co-hosted a ministry fair the weekend of Sept. 9-10 to acquaint all three sets of members to the multiple avenues of service to the Church in Monmouth County. The faith community in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Farmingdale, filled its parish hall for the “Building the Kingdom of God” annual fair, and, to reflect the ongoing Faith in Our Future initiative, were assisted for the first time this year by members of St. Veronica and St. William the Abbot parishes, both of Howell.

“It was well-received,” noted Laura Randazzo, St. Catherine of Siena Parish council coordinator. “It helped promote awareness of what the parish has to offer.”

“The ministry fair is celebration of our parish mission and ministries,” continued Father Angelito I. Anarcon, pastor of the Farmingdale parish. “It is designed to showcase the various opportunities and numerous events available … while underscoring wonderful faith building experiences that can happen when working together in ministry.”

Representatives from a number of the nearly three dozen ministries in St. Catherine of Siena Parish were present to answer questions after each of the weekend’s Masses, and share opportunities to serve. Adding to the showcase was information on St. William the Abbot and St. Veronica’s numerous programs and events.

After each Mass, attendees could participate in a free raffle for donated gift baskets, using the “wine and dine” theme on Saturday evening and a “sweet treat” theme on Sunday.

In addition, “mini ambassadors” from St. Veronica School served as examples of how an exemplary Catholic education can enrich the lives of children. “Their presence is a strong testament to the collaboration efforts of the Faith in Our Future initiative,” said Father Anarcon.
