A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 25 in the IHM Center, Scranton, Pa., for Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister Margo McCormick, who died July 20.

Born in 1940 in Scranton, Sister Margo, formerly known as Sister Austin Marie, entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary congregation Sept. 7, 1957; her temporary profession of vows March 14, 1960, and her final profession of vows March 14, 1965. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Marywood College, Scranton, and a master of science degree in mathematics from the University of Dayton.

Sister Margo served in the ministry of education, teaching and serving in schools in New York, North Carolina, Maryland and Pennsylvania. In the Trenton Diocese, she served as assistant superintendent of schools in the diocesan Office of Catholic Education, from 1984 to 1986. She held other positions in which she represented her community including as a consultant, director of operations and manager of development at Marywood College, resource coordinator, and as a grant writer for the Catherine McAuley Center from 2013 until the time of her death.

Sister Margo is survived by three sisters, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and members of the IHM congregation.

Burial was in St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
