Funeral services were held Dec. 7 in Assisi House, Aston, Pa., for Franciscan Sister Anne Conrad Koerner, who died Nov. 30.

A professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 73 years. Sister Anne Conrad (formerly Carmelia Madeline Koerner) was born in Baltimore. She entered the congregation in 1946 and professed her first vows in 1949. She earned a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from Fordham University, N.Y.

During her early years in the congregation, she ministered in elementary education, serving for 17 years in schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. After becoming a registered pharmacist, she ministered in healthcare, serving for 19 years in a hospital in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Sister Anne Conrad’s hospital ministry then included 17 years in the Diocese of Harrisburg; 15 years in the Diocese of Wilmington, and seven years in St. Francis Medical Center in the Diocese of Trenton.

Sister Anne Conrad is survived by her three nephews, a niece and her Franciscan family. Burial was in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Aston, Pa.
