Sister Agnes Bonner
Funeral services are scheduled for Dec. 21 for Franciscan Sister Agnes Bonner who died Dec. 13. She was 99.

Sister Agnes, formerly Sister Catherine Michael, had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 78 years. Born in Wilmington, Del., she entered the congregation in 1942 and professed her first vows in 1944. She earned a bachelor of science degree in education and a master of science in biology/science, both from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa. She ministered primarily in secondary education and social service in the Archdioceses/Dioceses of Wilmington Philadelphia, Trenton; Fall River, Mass., and Harrisburg, Pa. In the Trenton Diocese, she taught for 13 years in the former Blessed Sacrament School, Trenton, and McCorristin Catholic High School, Hamilton, where she also served as the head of the science department.

All services will be held in Assisi House, Aston, Pa. and will be livestreamed. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by viewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Aston.

Sister Agnes is survived by her nieces and nephews and her Franciscan family.
