A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated July 29 at 11 a.m. in St. James Church, 115 E. Delaware Ave., Pennington, for Anthony J. Persichilli, 76, who died July 24 of complications from a fall.

Mr. Persichilli graduated from Ewing High School in 1961 as class president. He earned a bachelor of arts and master of business administration degree from Rider University, Lawrenceville. He worked at AT&T for 31 years in human resources and as vice president of human resources for Prudential Financial in Newark for five years until his retirement.

Mr. Persichilli was very active in his community, serving three consecutive terms as mayor of Pennington from 2006 until December 2018. He volunteered as a member of the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce and the American Heart Association; on the board of St. Francis Medical Center Foundation, and with the Development Committee of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton. In recognition for his service, he received the 2013 Mercer County Light of Hope award from Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, and the 2014 Spirit of St. Francis Award from St. Francis Medical Center.

Mr. Persichilli was predeceased by his parents and his brother. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith, who served eight years as CEO of St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton; his sister, Salma Popovich (Frank); his brother, Dominick (Joan); sisters-in-law, Leanne Mella and Toni M. Tracy; brother- and sister-in-law, James and Tara Mella, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for Mr. Persichilli will be July 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. and July 29 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., both in St. James Church. Private entombment will be in St. Mary Mausoleum, Hamilton.
