Application of the Apostolic Letter “Traditionis Custodes” in the Diocese of Trenton
Monday, July 19, 2021 12:18 PM
In accordance with the July 16, 2021 apostolic letter motu proprio of His Holiness Pope Francis regarding the use of 1962 Roman Missal of Pope St. John XXIII, I have authorized its use in the following five designated parishes of the Diocese of Trenton: St. John the Baptist Parish in Allentown; St. Catherine Laboure Parish in Middletown; Holy Innocents Parish in Neptune; Holy Cross Parish in Rumson; and St. Dominic Parish in Brick. The pastors of these parishes have been given the faculties and other instructions necessary for the celebration of Holy Mass according to the 1962 Missal.
In addition, St. Michael Parish in West End will be permitted to celebrate the 1962 Missal on First Fridays, alternating every other month with Mass celebrated according to the 1970 Roman Missal of Pope St. Paul VI.
Most Reverend David O’Connell, C.M., J.C.D.
Bishop of Trenton
