In the homily he preached Sept. 23, Bishop O'Connell reflected on the "great feast of Pentecost" when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Church.

"Today is another Pentecost for us as we gather for the 50th anniversary of the New Jersey Catholic Charismatic Renewal!" said Bishop O'Connell. "For us, really, every day is Pentecost because every day the Holy Spirit fills our hearts!"
