Diocesan officials gathered in the Chancery April 27 to thank Harry R. Hill, Jr., partner at Mercer County’s Backes and Hill law firm, for his decades of service to the Diocese of Trenton as diocesan attorney.

Hill, who is retiring at age 93, has provided legal counsel and services to four bishops of the Diocese during his tenure.

In brief remarks, Bishop O’Connell stated, “It is difficult to put into words how much Harry Hill has meant to our Diocese over these many years, representing our multiple legal needs and interests. He is an incredible lawyer.”

Hill addressed those gathered, speaking with great affection for the four bishops he has served over the years and highlighting his special memories of each.He shared that he looks forward to spending more time with his family in his retirement

Kevin Cimei, diocesan Chief Financial Officer, and Joseph Bianchi, diocesan Chief Administrative Officer, were joined by Chancellor Terry Ginther, Director of Risk Management Joseph Cahill and the Bishop in presenting Hill with a plaque commemorating his contributions to the Diocese of Trenton.

Michael Castellano, chairman of the Diocesan Finance Council on which Hill has served, other diocesan officials and staff from the Backes and Hill firm were also present to recognize Hill’s many years of service and to wish him well in his retirement.
