All young adults ages 18-39 are invited to attend the Diocese of Trenton’s annual Service & Social June 11 for a day-long opportunity for fellowship and community service with other young adult Catholics.

Benefitting Seeds of Service, Brick, the casual day will begin at 9 a.m. Participants will be working in the social service agency’s food pantry, helping to set up, stock shelves, accompany and help guests as they shop and even serve as greeters. Volunteers will create and distribute food baskets to those in need.

Others will be invited to help get the community garden back in shape and plant vegetables. All crops grown in the garden will be distributed through the food pantry. Additional opportunities to serve include helping with Seeds of Service’s ecommerce fundraising and more.

The day will include Mass in the adjacent Visitation Church at 4 p.m. Participants should bring a bag lunch and come prepared to work both indoors and outside, wherever is most needed. Dinner will be available for purchase after Mass from a local food truck, with time to socialize outside around a fire pit.
