The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has announced its new mobile-responsive ForYourMarriage.org website that includes updated content, graphics and a new section dedicated to marriage and family ministry leaders.

ForYourMarriage.org, which began in 2007, is an initiative of the USCCB that began as the communications component of the National Pastoral Initiative for Marriage. It continues to play a key role in advancing the USCCB’s priority on marriage and family.

The new website was developed in collaboration with Crosby Communications and Marketing after receiving a grant from the Catholic Communications Campaign.

“I hope this new platform will reach many more people with the message of God’s plan for marriage and be a source of support to husbands and wives at every stage of their vocational journey,” said Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, OFM Cap, of Philadelphia, chairman of the bishops’ Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.

The website’s resources explain God’s plan for marriage, and provides support to couples at every stage of their journey. A sleek new layout, which displays well on mobile smartphones and tablets, features tabs at the top for “Dating and Engaged,” “Married Life” and “Family Life and Parenting,” accompanied by a search icon and menu. During Lent, the featured leading article offers suggestions for approaching the season as a spousal team effort. The Daily Marriage Tip gives users a reason to revisit frequently, as do the sections of “Popular Content” and “Blog Posts.”

Additional topics include marriage preparation, mixed marriages, natural family planning and the stages of marriage, among others. A marriage resource section offers marriage help and support links, and solutions to common challenges. Finally, questions specific to planning a Catholic wedding as well as related Church documents and teachings are available on the website.

The weekly blog posts are contributed by husbands and wives who write about their real-life experiences as engaged, newlyweds or seasoned couples. Feature articles include book reviews, reports on current events and research related to marriage, and recent teachings about marriage and family life from the Holy Father.

In addition to the launch of ForYourMarriage.org, the USCCB initiative also included a research study on Catholics and marriage; focus groups with married couples, priests, and canon lawyers; an analysis of diocesan marriage preparation policies; and dialogues with social scientists and theologians.

The bishops reaffirmed their strong support for marriage and the family by identifying “strengthening marriage and family life” as one of four strategic priorities of the USCCB for the current planning period of 2017-2020.

Other websites hosted by the USCCB and dedicated to promoting marriage include PorTuMatrimonio.org and MarriageUniqueForAReason.org. More information can be found at www.USCCB.org.
