Some 80 women and men who participated as notetakers and facilitators on the local phase of the worldwide Synod were thanked for their service to their parishes and the Diocese of Trenton.

The gathering was held Sept. 24 in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold, where Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., celebrated Mass. A meeting followed in the parish hall where participants heard a recap of the information that they had collected during the Listening Sessions held in the earlier months of this year. Participants also discussed ways in which some of their findings may be implemented on the parish level.

The meeting was facilitated by Terry Ginther, diocesan chancellor and executive director of Pastoral Life and Mission. Mary Liz ivins and Deacon Pat Brannigan, diocesan Synod co-chairs, were in attendance.
