From the smiling faces of the anniversary couple that graces this month’s cover . . . and the compelling series from our Bishop on God’s gift of the Eucharist . . . to the dozens of stories about our brothers and sisters doing God’s work in their parishes and communities . . . LOVE is the thread that runs through the November issue of The Monitor Magazine.

We first call your attention to Bishop O’Connell’s five part catechetical series on the Holy Eucharist, in which he offers his own insights on the Blessed Sacrament as well as shares the teachings from the Church’s Popes, theologians and saints. Spending time with the Bishop’s series, whether here in print or in video or audio recordings on the diocesan website, is a perfect way to grow in our faith and understanding during this National Eucharistic Revival.

It once again is a privilege for The Monitor to present our annual tribute to the anniversary couples celebrating one, 25 and 50 or more years of married love.  Our special section in this issue lists the hundreds of couples who were honored at the Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing Masses in early October and features a beautiful collection of photos from the events.

Check out some of these highlights in the new issue:

  • GROWING IN FAITH: Traveling exhibit on Eucharistic miracles bolsters faith for all generations; At Catholic Schools Mass, Bishop encourages students to pursue holiness like Blessed Carlo Acutis; Bishop speaks to TCNJ students about roles of faith and religion
  • ACTS OF SERVICE: Homeless agency in Ocean County enjoys strong support; Healthcare workers honored, blessed during White Mass; Local students use their voices to advocate for peace, justice
