St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton, will host speaker and author Leah Libresco Sargeant Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the parish center.

Libresco Sargeant’s talk will focus on her book, “Building the Benedict Option: A Guide to Gathering Two or Three Together in His Name” and discuss practical ways Christians can build communities of prayer, socialization and evangelization where they live and work. All are welcome to attend, and young adults are especially encouraged, since there will be opportunities for them to connect with their peers and engage in a topic pertinent to their faith and life.

Libresco Sargeant grew up as an atheist on Long Island and graduated from Yale University. While at Yale, she picked fights with the most interesting people she could find – which turned out to be the Catholics on campus. After reading many books and participating in numerous debates, she gained a different perspective, especially on the Catholic Church. Sargeant ultimately desired to enter the Catholic Church and received the Sacraments in 2012. She is the author of three books, has spoken throughout the world, appeared on CNN and offers a course on Bishop Robert Barron’s “Word on Fire.”

St. Gregory the Great Parish is located at 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. For more information, contact Cathy Dey, a member of the parish’s adult faith formation team which is sponsoring the event, at 609-587-1131, ext. 434.
