From first-time artists to seasoned painters, more than 30 faithful turned out May 8 for a painting fundraiser for the Rosary Altar Society in St. Joseph Parish, Toms River. Held in the adjacent Donovan Catholic High School cafeteria, the room was full of smiles, laughter and camaraderie as the painters got creative in crafting a delicate angel with gold wings holding a heart. The artists were encouraged by Father Scott Shaffer, pastor, and Father Jerome Guild, parochial vicar, as the two walked around the rows of painters – including parishioner Stacy Test, above – to offer encouragement.  Jennifer Mauro photo
