Those members of the House of Representatives who voted to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act are to be congratulated for coming to the defense of preborn children and their mothers. This act will now go to the Senate for their action.  Senators Booker and Menendez need to support this bill when it comes before the Senate.

The United States is one of only seven countries that still permit elective abortions after five months of gestation.  Among these are China and North Korea.

While the media will likely categorize this bill as extreme, the American people support it.  A 2014 Quinnipiac poll found that 60 percent of Americans, including 56 percent of independents and 46 percent of democrats, support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Even half of democrats believe five months is a good point at which to protect children and their mothers.  You would not know this from the House vote on this bill, where all but four democratic members voted against it.

I ask everyone to contact Senators Booker and Menendez and urge them to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
