We can all use a little inspiration

If you saw them in the grocery store, or at the bank, or at your child’s soccer game . . . you would likely never know the important and impactful things that they do; the distances from which they came, and the things that continue to drive them to make a difference.  Even if you recognize them from your parish or your doctor’s office; even if you have seen them mentioned in articles carried by The Monitor and other media outlets, you may still not know their personal stories and the ways that they have been inspired by their faith.

As we all embark on a new year, with many of us looking for the inspiration to make a difference in our own lives and those with whom we share this world, The Monitor Magazine introduces its new feature:  BE INSPIRED.  With this launch, we share with readers the stories of a number of ordinary men and women with extraordinary stories.

Though they come from different walks of life, though their journeys have been very different, the people featured in this inaugural appearance of BE INSPIRED share one thing for sure – the ability to inspire us through their willingness to say yes when they saw a need; their service to others, and their witness to God’s love.

We will continue to carry stories of inspiration in the coming issues of The Monitor Magazine and on TrentonMonitor.com.  With some stories you will know the subjects and you will have heard some of their story. But we are intent on reporting the parts of their stories that you don’t all know.  We are focused on finding out what inspires each of them, so that we in turn can connect with what might inspire us.

As part of our BE INSPIRED feature, we would like to hear from you, our readers, about what and who inspire you.  If you would like to share that with us – especially the name of a person with an inspiring story, please write to us at [email protected] or message us on Facebook.

We hope that you enjoy BE INSPIRED and that you find inspiration at every turn in this new year.  God bless!
